- About Us
John Carson Scott, 69, of Bentonville, AR passed away from this world and into the next on August 4, 2019 at Mercy Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
John was born and raised in Springfield, MO where he grew to embrace nature with a sense of wonder and excitement with all that God had placed before his eyes and beneath his feet. His start in life began in the Ozarks and was completed in the Ozarks with many wondrous National Parks in between. From Yellowstone National Park, where he and Diane met and were married, to AZ, MO, OR, AR, WA, WI, SD and then back to the Ozarks where he retired from the NPS completing is 40 years of service as Superintendent of Pea Ridge National Military Park. He passed on his love and respect of our natural world to his children and grandchildren.
John loved the feel of the earth in the palms of his hands and was forever the gardener, forever tilling the earth to plant, grow and nurture. He kept bees and never stopped questioning in search of the secrets they held. He was as passionate for fishing as any fisherman could be and was never more at peace than on the river. He was a lucky man indeed to have been able to fish with his two boys and play in the river with his daughter and grandchildren just days before his passing. It is truly the simple things in life that make the heart sing. No man could have asked for more from life or have been more blessed.
John was preceded in death by his parents, David C. Scott and Frances L. Stewart Scott and his sister Margaret A. Scott Irwin.
He is survived by his wife, Diane, his 3 children, David (Jamie) of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Matthew (Meri Beth) of Pea Ridge, AR, and Emma (Roodyn) Martinez of Centerton, AR, grandchildren Austin, Kaylee, Levi and Ava. His memory will live on through his beautiful family, his many friends and through the lives he touched throughout his life.
