David Clair Stevens

July 11, 1943 ~ January 7, 2020 (age 76)

David Clair Stevens, 76, of Bella Vista, Arkansas passed away, Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Circle of Life, Legacy Village in Bentonville, Arkansas, surrounded by his family.   He was born July 11, 1943 in Black River Falls, Wisconsin to Ralph Wallace Stevens and Emma Theresa Johnson Stevens.

He married Janice Iverson on June 19, 1965 at Taylor Lutheran Church in Taylor, Wisconsin.   Together, they raised three wonderful children.

David worked around the Jackson County area, and subsequently was employed at the General Motors Assembly Plant, Janesville, Wisconsin.  He was employed there for 33 years, retiring on April 1, 1998.  David and Janice relocated to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 1998, where they currently reside.

David had an exuberant personality and made many friends wherever he lived and was truly an “unforgettable character.”  He enjoyed visiting with friends at Gusano's and was well known at The Waffle Hut in Rogers. He enjoyed traveling to Wisconsin and Illinois with Janice to visit his children and family and spent several winters in Mesquite, NV. With his sense of humor and love of people, he was sure to gather a crowd wherever he went.  He was known by several nicknames and lived up to them all.

He enjoyed detailing his truck, yardwork, was an excellent cook and loved grilling outdoors.  He was a wonderful husband, strong father, loving grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Jean, Phyllis and Beverly; brothers, Ron and Richard William (Dicky Bill).

He is survived by his wife, Janice Stevens; two sons,  Gregory (Brenda), Chad (Mykaela); daughter, Angela (Mike) Stepanek; five grandchildren, Andrew, Casey and Carson Wolter, Nicholas, Lucas and Makayla Stevens; three great-grandchildren, Paige, Beckham and Jaxton Stevens; four brothers, Roger (Pat), Arlan, Don (Mary) and Dan (Lynne); and one sister, Cheryl (Tom) Borreson; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful hospice staff at Circle of Life. The care, compassion, dignity and love you showed Dave/Dad in his final days was phenomenal.
